Data Deletion Instructions
What this covers
You can ask ProfitSignal to delete your account information and, where applicable, the data stored from a connected Instagram professional account. If you sent a message to a connected Instagram account, you can also ask us to delete information about you even if you do not have a ProfitSignal account.
- For a manual Page-token connection: the access token and app secret entered for the connection, the Instagram account identifier, and the Instagram messages and sender details stored in your workspace.
- For an Instagram Business Login connection: the encrypted access token, the Instagram account identifier, username and app-specific identifier, the granted permissions, the connection's status and history details, and the Instagram messages and sender details stored in your workspace.
How to request deletion
- Email contact@profitsignal.org. If you have a ProfitSignal account, use its email address when possible. You do not need a ProfitSignal account to make a request about your Instagram messages.
- Use Data Deletion Request as the subject line.
- If you have a workspace, tell us which one. If you are an Instagram message sender, tell us your Instagram username, the professional account you messaged, and approximately when you messaged it, if you know. Do not send passwords or access tokens.
What happens next
A person at ProfitSignal reviews each request and replies by email with the outcome or the next step.
For a request about Instagram messages, a matching Instagram username, message or other detail is not, by itself, proof that you control the Instagram account. If we cannot verify that you control the account, or cannot verify which information the request covers, we cannot disclose or delete that information, and we will not tell you that its deletion is complete.
Stopping new data
For a manual Page-token connection, you can ask us to disconnect it. Disconnecting clears the stored access token and app secret, and after the connection is disconnected, we do not store new messages sent to the account through it. Disconnecting does not change the settings of your own Meta app.
For an Instagram Business Login connection, a workspace owner, admin or manager can disconnect it in ProfitSignal's settings. Disconnecting clears the stored access token only: it does not delete messages already stored in your workspace, and ProfitSignal does not currently ask Instagram to stop message notifications or to remove ProfitSignal's access. You can remove that access from your Instagram account settings. After the connection is disconnected, we do not store new messages sent to the account through it.
Disconnecting either kind of connection does not delete data we already hold. To ask us to delete it, send a request as described above.
